Hope is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM, LM) serving families throughout Southwest Wyoming & Northern Utah.  Many of these rural areas have limited care options and are in great need of birth professionals.  After several years of practicing Utah and over 350 births later she has returned back to her native roots in Evanston, WY.  She is passionate about providing evidence-based care to these under-served areas. Hope is a midwife on the Wyoming State Board of Midwifery, and the MMRC (Maternal Morbidity Review Committee) of Utah/Wyoming.

Hope helps women in the community:

1) trust their motherly intuition & make informed decisions throughout care

2) incorporate holistic care, good nutrition, and herbal remedies

3) avoid unnecessary medical interventions that affect bonding

Hope believes in the beauty of natural birth and the strength of women  Her services are designed to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual, ensuring a truly personalized and empowering birth experience. Throughout your prenatal care you will discuss all aspects of homebirth, waterbirth, and your postpartum phase.  You will make informed choices in regards to your own health and comprehensive care.  Hope strongly believes in birth unfolding unrushed & uninterrupted under her professional care.  As a licensed midwife she does carry medications and only uses them when needed.  Instead choosing to focus on holistic measures like advocating for proper nutrition, herbs, and chiropractic care throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care.

Philosophy Of Care

  • Childbirth is usually natural process.  Childbirth is a spiritual experience.
  • A woman has the right to say what care she wants to receive throughout pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period.  And be treated with dignity and respect at all times.
  • A woman should give birth where she feels the most comfortable and safe.
  • As a midwife I will not provide any care that is against my own personal beliefs , or what I see as wrong.

My own birth experiences;

When I started practicing midwifery I was 24 years old and single.  I met and married my husband in 2020.  Shortly after we were expecting our first child.  We were living in a small condo in Millcreek, Utah.  I had a very long 36 hour labor, with a 4 hour cervical lip.  I chose to have my midwife rupture my water, and transferred to a hospital for an epidural.  She was born 1 hour later.

Fast forward 3 years, I had our second daughter in our own home.  It was just my husband and I.  My contractions had been mild and irregular throughout the whole day.  In the evening I thought to get into the tub to relax and then head to bed.  In the middle of my bath my contractions started coming back to back.  My husband jolted out of bed, filled the birth pool, and pressed on my hips.  Forty minutes later my water broke and BAM, my almost 10 pound baby was in my arms.

My last pregnancy came with the biggest surprise.  I went in for my 20 week ultrasound and left finding out we were expecting fraternal twins.  My labor started when I was 40 weeks 3 days gestation, on a full moon and crazy snowstorm.  I labored in birth pool.  My son was born first, and 11 minutes later I delivered my daughter breech  (feet first).  They were both over 9 pounds, breaking state records.

Each of my pregnancies, labors, and postpartum periods were a little different.  I have found this personal experience has helped me be a better midwife to all the women I serve.
